we never see. A world of thoughts, feelings, memories, and dreams. David
wasn't just a giant-killer; he was a little brother who probably got teased, a
songwriter who hummed to his sheep, a dad who worried about his kids.
Mary wasn't just Jesus's mother; she was a teenage girl who might have
been scared to tell her parents she'd seen an angel.
The Bible doesn't record all those moments. It can't—there isn't room. But
God knows every single one. And He invites us to wonder about them. Not
to add to the Bible, but to let our hearts connect with the hearts beating
inside the stories. When we do that, the stories stop being distant history
and start feeling like family dinners full of familiar faces.
